As a ministry of New Life Fellowship, Life Academy believes and teaches the doctrines of the Apostolic faith. The basis for our beliefs and lifestyle come from explicit passages of the Bible and biblical principles. Based on Scripture, we believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living (2 Timothy 3:15-17).
Essential Beliefs
We believe there is only one God.( Deut 6:4; Eph 4:4-6; Col 2:9; 1 Tim 3:16)
We believe the Good News is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Paul wrote that the Gospel is His death; His burial; and His resurrection. We are instructed to obey the Gospel in our lives. We obey the Gospel by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial) and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). (1 Cor 15:1-4; Rom 6:3-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39).
We believe we are called to be holy in all manner of our behavior because God is holy. (1 Pet 1:15-16; Heb 12:14)
We believe in living a separated lifestyle in our holiness standard of appearance. Recognizing that if we are walking in purity and humility before God, the inevitable result will be spiritual beauty and a modest, discreet, and wholesome outward appearance. Therefore, the principle established by scripture guides us to uphold modest dress for both men and women, emphasizing decency, propriety, and the avoidance of clothing that blurs the distinction between genders. Additionally, we adhere to the biblical practice of uncut hair for girls and cut hair for boys, reinforcing our commitment to a holiness standard that aligns with scriptural principles. (Rom 12:1-2, Rom 14:13, Deut 22:5, 1 Cor 11:14-15)
Life Academy is intentional about our philosophy of Christian education being Christ-centered; we believe the Bible is God's inspired, infallible, authoritative Word. The Word of God is to permeate all areas of the Life Academy experience – our curriculum, culture, relationships, extracurricular activities, and attitudes.
A Christian philosophy of education requires both proper understanding and demonstration of the role of the teacher (to impart knowledge and to be an example) and the student (to pursue and receive truth). We believe that God has created and designed the family as the primary institution to teach children. Life Academy partners with families to assist them with a biblically driven education consistent with the Christian home and church.
We believe there are three main elements to education: knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. Knowledge is the discovery of fact, principle, or concept. Understanding is the ability to evaluate the facts. The most precious of all, wisdom, is the ability to make judgments in light of that understanding. The Bible refers to these education components as treasures that come from God. (Proverbs 2:1-6)
Role of the Educator
Life Academy believes that excellence in Academics can only be achieved with the quality of the Administration, teaching, and support staff it employs. We believe the teacher's primary role is to impart knowledge and be an example to the students. Our teachers know God, follow His direction and believe they have been called into the spiritual ministry of education to glorify God with passion and purpose, according to Ephesians 4:11-12.
Role of the Student
At Life Academy, we view each student as a spiritual and physical being, created in the image of God; who can think, feel, choose, and be in control of their own bodies as expressed in God's Word. We believe the primary role of the student is to pursue and receive the truth that is being taught.
Partnership with the Parent and the Church
God's Word places the task and responsibility of educating children with the parents. Parents are to oversee each facet of training, with the goal of nurturing righteousness and faith from one generation to the next (Genesis 18:19, Proverbs 22:6).
Life Academy recognizes the authority of the parents and does not seek to circumvent but rather to assist. We believe that a proper relationship between family, church, and school is essential to Christian education.
